Thank you for your interest in the Lawler House Gallery. The Gallery was established in 2009 as a generous ‘gift’ from the City of Suisun. It has quickly acquired a reputation as being an exciting, new venue in downtown Suisun. The Gallery offers local artists an opportunity to exhibit work, sell work, and connect with the community.
The City of Suisun frequently holds events at the Waterfront Harbor; the Gallery is open during these events. Events at the Gallery are promoted through The Daily Republic newspaper; the Gallery’s own website LawlerHouseGallery.org, facebook.com/LawlerHouseArtGallery , postcards and E-vites.
The Gallery is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the month from Noon to 4 PM. Most exhibitions run for three months. Artwork exhibited during that time frame must be for sale. Members docent at the Gallery, volunteer during receptions, assist with other operations of the Gallery, and attend Gallery meetings. Information about each artist is kept onsite, yet each member promotes all artwork in Gallery when speaking to guests during exhibitions. The Gift Shop in the Gallery also provides members with an opportunity to sell smaller, non-themed artwork throughout the year.
The current Lawler House Gallery members work hard to create an artful environment in the Gallery. All members of the gallery perform their roles as volunteers and for the love of this gallery. We take turns in being the docent while the gallery is open. We are also on the lookout for artists that have operational and promotional skills to add to the success of the gallery.
