There has always been a creative side to my nature.
My art work began as a fiber artist, painting (dying) silk scarves. Each of my scarves is a “One-of-a-kind” piece. This is sometimes referred to as wearable art.
My interest in Watercolor medium is a direct result of painting on silk. The techniques used in Watercolor remind me of painting on silk. I have found watercolor challenges my patience which I have had to learn to control.
I have studied with several well known Bay area teachers, Linda Sutton, Jane Loveall, Sandy Delehanty, and Sue Clanton, my main influence has been Florence Lauzon, Rio Vista resident, artist and teacher.
This past year has been exploring Acrylic especially in “Abstract” form. This medium allows my intuitive instincts to flourish while painting. Abstract design is demanding and exceptionally rewarding. My study is with Tesia Blackburn, a nationally know abstract artist.
Both medium are different and force me to think before approaching the canvas.
