I spent my youth in Iowa, but received a B.A. from the University of Arizona in Art after my family moved to Tucson.

After college, I moved to Los Angeles saw lots of great bands, worked for Universal Studios and got a ticket to the Academy Awards—John Wayne won his Oscar that year.

John got back from Viet Nam and we married.  I continued to work as an artist in the capacity of instructor, in painting, jewelry making, photography, ceramics and wood crafts at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Leaving the Army behind, we decided to travel—by getting jobs in interesting places. First move was  Germany, with an illustrator job, and my first chance to use computers and graphics.

Next, the family decided to see Alaska. After illustrating in downtown Anchorage, I next took a government job where I advertised the multiple indoor and outdoor recreation facilities on Ft. Richardson, with photos illustration and copy. We shifted gears after a few years and moved to the DC area.  My job illustrating for the General Services Administration involved designs and original drawing for catalogs. A job switch to the Navy for a promotion gave me experience on Macs, and publication design. I returned to working for the Army during the Gulf War, illustrating classified briefings and learned more computer skills.

But at last we moved to California, where I retired from work and now pursue art.

Professional membership currently is: International Quilt Association, Fairfield Visual Arts, North wind Quilters Guild, Fiber Expressions of Napa, Napa Quilters Guild, American Quilters Society, East Bay Heritage Quilters.

My fiber works were juried into several international shows, including:
  • International Quilt Association, Chicago 2009-finalist
  • International Quilt Association, Long Beach 2009-finalist
  • Pacific International Quilt Show, Santa Clara 2007-2009-juried in
